Don’t Leave That Problematic Tooth Until After Christmas

Act promptly now and save yourself the misery of toothache at Christmas time.

With Christmas time rapidly approaching, it can be ‘all systems go’, fitting in parties, buying presents for friends and relatives and getting food and drinks in ready for the festivities. With all this to do, it is not really surprising that dental visits come low on most people’s lists. At Mike Allen’s Dental Practice, we know that some patients find it difficult to visit a dentist at this time of the year, but here are a few reasons why you probably should.

Missed appointments

Our Burton dental practice is a busy one, seeing both routine check up appointments, as well as emergency dental patients who are in pain. With this in mind, please do, even at this busy time, try to keep your routine appointments. This not only allows us to run an efficient dental practice, but means that your teeth and gums receive regular care and attention from your dentist.

Failing to keep an appointment almost inevitably means that the patient doesn’t get around to booking another one for quite some time. Instead, therefore, of having the teeth and gums  checked at intervals short enough to treat any problems with only minor dental surgery; any problem is likely to have advanced and may well need more invasive procedures, or potentially even extractions.

Minor problematic tooth

In January, it will come as no surprise to hear patients tell us that their tooth was ‘playing up’ a bit before Christmas but they thought they’d leave it until after the holidays were over. The lucky few may get away with a pain free Christmas if they did this, but unfortunately some will have been in significant pain at a time when dental practices across the UK are closed. Any discomfort can certainly take the edge off the Christmas festivities as some of us can no doubt attest!

The New Year

Even if you don’t fall into either of the two above categories, there are still plenty of reasons why you might like to pay a visit to our Burton dental practice. One of the most common reasons at this time of the year is to ‘spruce up’ the teeth for the New Year. Our teeth whitening procedure is a very popular personal Xmas present for some of our patients, and one which helps to give you a bright start to 2016.

Whether to re-arrange an appointment, see us because of a dental problem, or simply to find out more about our teeth whitening procedure, you can call us at Mike Allen’s Dental Practice in Burton on 01283 845345.
