Top Up Your Smile With A Teeth Whitening Procedure

‘At home’ teeth whitening

At Mike Allen’s Dental Practice, we offer our patients the opportunity to whiten their teeth at home, using our bespoke whitening trays. These are produced from impressions taken of your mouth and are made to fit safely and securely, minimising the risk of any burning caused by the whitening ingredient, which is a form of bleach. When you come to collect the trays into which the whitening ingredient is to be placed, our Burton dentist will advise you of how to use them and for how long.

Some patients prefer to end the treatment a little earlier to give their teeth a less brilliant white appearance, but one that they feel is more natural in appearance. Others are more than happy to allow the treatment to run its full course so that they obtain the maximum effect for a sparkling Hollywood smile.

Top ups

A whitening procedure could whiten your teeth by approximately eight shades and will last for some time.  Inevitably though, the effect will eventually fade and your teeth start to darken again. If you only wish to have whiter teeth for special events such as Christmas parties or weddings, you may choose to wait until such an event arises; alternatively you may wish to top up the whiteness before its full effect fades; the system is flexible and the choice is yours.

Whilst we don’t really recommend whitening toothpastes (their effect is minor due to restrictions on ingredients), you may wish to consider using one to extend the amount of time that your teeth stay white following your procedure. Here, whitening toothpastes can help a little.
